Set in the heritage listed village of Gundaroo NSW, the fully restored Gundaroo Colonial Inn was once known as Matt Crowe's Wine Bar, and has been in continuous operation since it was established in 1872.

Ideally situated just 15 minutes from the ACT border, it is just 40 minutes' drive from Canberra's CBD.

The Inn offers accommodation, a functions venue as well as a bar and restaurant and stocks a comprehensive selection of local wines in its take-out bottle shop.  Its rustic charm and warm atmosphere make it the ideal place for a social catch up or dinner.

The wholesome menu, friendly country hospitality and the beautifully restored building makes the Inn the perfect venue for your next function. The owners have utilised both recycled timber and locally sourced new timber to restore the whole area using a combination of Iron Bark, Red Gum, Black But and Yellow Box.  Many walls and existing fireplaces have been preserved and given new Red Gum mantelpieces.

Some very special and individual features have been included in the restoration including the Red Gum parquetry star inset in the new Star Saloon Bar made from Red Gum, and railings around the walls, made from the raw tree edge of Iron Bark.  The bar features a magnificent slab of beautiful Iron Bark, polished with a raw timber edge.

The old family cottage area has now been transformed into a modern kitchen for Crowe's Restaurant. The Stringy Bark Function Room offers a separate area for functions, private meetings or gatherings.  The Red Gum Licensed Bottle Shop enables people to browse and choose from a selection of high quality wines.
